Rowley Leigh's Café Anglais exudes intimacy and style, through a gleaming new, art deco-inspired Oyster Bar & Cafe replete under a spectacular chandelier.
Rowley Leigh is widely acknowledged as one of the founding fathers of modern British cooking. Having worked for illustrious places such as le Gavroche, Le Poulbot and Kensignton Place Restaurant, and being awarded the prestigious Glenfiddich award three times with The Guardian, The Sunday Telegraph and The Financial Times for his cookery writings, Rowley Leigh is the ultimate culinary master.
On Thursday 1 March 2012, we hosted an exclusive event at Le Cafe Anglais in Notting Hill with sumptuous dining and luxury wines courtesy of Bordeaux Index.
We raised a brilliant £105,000
The evening began with a martini and Champagne reception at the restaurant's oyster bar. Guests were then seated for a magnificent dinner prepared by Le Cafe Anglais's head chef, Rowley Leigh, three-time winner of the prestigious Glenfiddich award and the cookery correspondent of The Financial Times.
The fantastic live auction was brilliantly hosted by Oliver Barker from Sothebys and guests were whipped into a bidding frenzy over the exclusive lots featuring rare wines and exciting Châteaux tours.
