Our second Golf Day was held on Friday 22 June 2018. Teams played one of the finest courses in South East England at The Addington, Croydon in the beautiful sunshine. The event was a huge success and raised £12,660, which is enough to support 375 families for a night in one of our ‘Homes from Home.’
The day began with coffee and bacon rolls on arrival and the opportunity to practice on the putting green outside the Club House. Those taking the competition element more seriously than others soon became apparent!
After a short briefing for the day, the teams made their way to their starting tees for a 9.30am shotgun start. Each team played 18 holes of golf on a challenging but rewarding course.
Refreshments were waiting for our teams in the Halfway Hut, followed by the opportunity to beat the pro and win a prize. After an enjoyable afternoon on the course it was then back to the Club House for a two course lunch with wine and prize giving with Theo’s Lemons claiming the victory this year. Other competitions around the course included longest drive and nearest the pin – congratulations to all our winners!
A huge thank you to all our teams who took part in the day without which we could not have reached our total of £11,270.
