With 13 out of 18 holes featuring water, our teams knew they had a challenging, but hopefully enjoyable day ahead of them. They fuelled themselves with coffee and bacon rolls aplenty before heading out for a shotgun start at 10.45am. Twenty teams took on Seve Ballesteros’ masterpiece, battling a chilly morning before the sun finally came out in the late afternoon. They popped into the Halfway Hut during their round for a quick chat over a cuppa before heading back out to tackle our fiendish course competitions, including beat the pro and longest drive.
Our ultimate winners were a team from XLCatlin who also had the winner of the best individual Stableford score in their midst. Congratulations must also go to our nearest the pin and longest drive winners who were Rob Brack and Kevin Keil respectively, and all 15 of our players who managed to beat the pro!
Thank you to everyone who so generously supported the day. There’s a small selection of photos available on our Flickr page with more to follow!
Our golf day will return next year; check back for further information later in the year.

On Friday 24 March we held our first ever golf day at The Shire London, Seve Ballesteros’ only UK golf course, in the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside. The day was a great success raising £13,420, enough to provide nearly 450 nights of accommodation for our families.
