Trusts & Foundations
The support of charitable trusts and foundations is absolutely crucial in helping The Sick Children’s Trust to support the thousands of families every year who need a place to stay when their child has to go into hospital.

We are very grateful to the many trusts that have supported us over our 30-year history, helping us to keep our doors open, enabling us to build new ‘Homes from Home’ and continue providing assistance to families at one of the most distressing times in their lives.

Our work doesn’t stop though. We still need your support to keep our doors open and to build new ‘Homes from Home’ in locations where they are urgently needed.

How you can helpIf you are the Trustee of a charitable trust or foundation, are involved in setting up a new trust or know someone who is, we’d love to hear from you.

We recognise that funders often have their own specific aims and objectives they wish to realise through their charitable giving, and so our dedicated trusts fundraiser Sam will work with you to discuss our current projects and how a lasting relationship with The Sick Children’s Trust can benefit both your aims and the families we support.

  • You could make a donation towards our running costs, either directly towards our core costs or through sponsoring a family bedroom, or alternatively funding specific items of equipment needed in our ‘Homes from Home’.
  • If you prefer to donate towards a capital project, helping us to build a new ‘Home from Home’, there are a number of options. Again, you could make a donation towards specific items of equipment or furniture, like beds and mattresses, kitchen cupboards or a new TV, or you could choose to sponsor the creation of a new family bedroom or living space within the house.

However you choose to support our work, Sam will also provide you with ongoing tailored monitoring and reporting, to give you a greater insight into the impact your support has had on the families you are helping. And if you’d like to visit one of our ‘Homes from Home’ at any time to fully understand the work we do, we will be happy to meet you and to show you around and explain more about our work.

Why Trusts support our work

The February Foundation has been a generous backer of both capital appeals and our running costs for a number of years. They donated £10,000 towards the construction and furnishing costs of Eckersley House, Chestnut House and Magnolia House. They also supported our two ‘Homes from Home’ at Great Ormond Street Hospital with a donation of £6,000 towards operating costs. We are very grateful for their ongoing support.

"The February Foundation supports charities which demonstrate effective management and excellent outcomes for their service users. One of the February Foundation's main priorities is to support ill children and their families, which The Sick Children’s Trust excels in. The February Foundation's support of the Sick Children’s Trust’s recent capital appeals is the direct result of the Trust’s highly cost-effective fundraising, and of the extremely effective balancing of excellent business planning with measurable benefits for very ill children and their families.”
