Survey shows UK’s favourite celebrit-tea is Stephen Fry
A survey undertaken by The Sick Children’s Trust for its Big Chocolate Tea Party campaign has revealed Stephen Fry is the UK’s favourite choice of celebrity to share a cup of tea with.
More than 1,000 people took part in the survey which was run through the campaign’s official media partner Woman’s Own.
Stephen said:
“I am overcome and honoured beyond imagining to have been chosen as the UK's favourite celebrity to have a cup of tea with and I can't quite believe that I have come ahead of Lorraine Kelly (a respectable 2nd) and the Queen (an honourable 3rd). I shall celebrate this delightful news with a cup of, gee darling, Darjeeling.”
The survey also found that the favourite place for Britons to have a cup of tea would be at Buckingham Palace.

3. The Queen
4. Duchess of Cambridge

The Sick Children's Trust fundraiser, Jodie Vasquez , was recognised for her fundraising efforts for our charity, at the national, annual Charity Staff & Volunteers Awards 2013 presented by the Charity Staff Foundation.
The event, which was held in Central Hall Westminster London on Thursday 7th March, celebrates and recognises the outstanding achievement made by staff and volunteers in over twenty different charity roles.
Jodie, who has fundraised for us for the last year, won the ‘Volunteer Fundraiser of The Year' award. 18 year old Jodie from Carlisle has Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome Hypermobility Type III (EDS). She has been in and out of hospital and has had to undergo more than a dozen operations. Jodie has not eaten since 2009, instead taking nutrients via an intravenous drip. Since July 2012 Jodie has raised money through a cake sale which raised £400 and given the fact that she herself can’t eat is even more impressive and shows her commitment to the charity, a mile of coins fundraising event which raised £815, a charity Motown night which raised £1115.24 and was attended by 150 supporters, the Cumbrian Run (run on behalf of her by a friend) which raised £1,907 and a Zombie walk. For her latest event, the Zombie walk she wanted to raise £350 but exceeded this target and raised £612. So far Jodie has raised nearly £3,000 but is continuing her efforts in 2013 .
David Wright, Treasurer and Secretary to the Trustees at the Charity Staff Foundation said: “The Charity Staff & Volunteers Awards are our way of helping recognise those staff and volunteers who have shown great dedication and commitment to their charity. Last night’s ceremony was a huge success and congratulations to Jodie who is a fantastic representative of the voluntary sector”.
