Spring Ball
TV and radio presenter Gabby Logan, and her husband, Scottish International Rugby Union star, Kenny, joined Strictly Come Dancing star Karen Hardy (right) and more than 300 guests to celebrate the arrival of spring and raise funds for us at the exclusive Hurlingham Club in Fulham, London, on Saturday 27 March,
The event was organised by Stephen Ormrod and friends as a thank you to The SCT for supporting his family whilst daughter Georgia underwent treatment for cancer.
Georgia was just 11 years old when she was diagnosed with a brain tumour and rushed to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge last year. The SCT provided the family with ‘Home from Home’ accommodation at Acorn House, during the five months Georgia was being treated.
There was many fabulous auction prizes on the evening including:
- photography lesson with celebrity photographer, Rankin, whose iconic shots include Kylie and the Queen
- dinner party in your home cooked by celebrity chef Steve Groves, winner of 2009 Professional Masterchef
- rugby coaching session by Scottish international rugby star, Kenny Logan
- one week’s summer internship with fashion designer Julien McDonald
- Harvey Nichol's shopping experience, with champagne, personal shopping consultation and beauty make over.
It was a truly fantastic evening and, all importantly, raised a whopping £62,000 for The Sick Children’s Trust.
