Treetop Sponsored Walk
At 1pm on Sunday 13 June, families took part in the second annual sponsored walk around Weston Park & Crookes Valley Park in Sheffield, all in a bid to raise money for The Sick Children’s Trust.
The rain did nothing to dampen the spirits of the people of all ages as they walked the mile long circuit enjoying the beautiful surroundings – it was a very gentle stroll in the park, so perfect for family members of all ages and abilities. Children taking part even managed to incorporate a stop off for swings!
There was a tombola and treasure maps to increase the fun, and we even had the pleasure of a listening to a band playing in the park bandstand - although this wasn't organised by The Sick Children's Trust.

The day raised nearly £1000 which will go towards the £1million needed this year to keep all The Sick Children’s Trust ‘Homes from Home’ open – so they can continue to support families while their children are seriously ill and receiving treatment in hospital often far from the family home.
The event was organised by Nichola Higgins and Rachel Yates, assistant house managers at Treetop House, The Sick Children’s Trust ‘Home from Home’ based at Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
Nichola says: "It was wonderful to see so many families supporting us and helping to raise such a fantastic amount for The Sick Children’s Trust. Even with the rain, everyone had such a lovely day and it was a real family affair – we had people taking part of all ages, from babies to grandparents! A big thank you to everyone who took part."
