No child should have to face hospital without their family by their side. The Sick Children’s Trust provides a welcoming ‘Home from Home’ where families with a sick child in hospital can stay. But we’re more than bricks and mortar, our caring staff are there to support families when they need it.

Imagine the person you love most in the world? They are critically ill, but they are out of reach, you can’t touch them, you can’t comfort them, you can’t take away their fear or hold their hand…how would you feel? This is how families we support feel when their child is suddenly admitted to hospital. To add to this families may have to travel long distances, sleep in uncomfortable hospital chairs or pay for expensive hotels that they can't afford, just to be by their sick child’s bedside.
Solution
We provide vital ‘Homes from Home’ where families with a sick child in hospital can stay. At an overwhelming and difficult time, we offer them the support they need to face the day ahead. They can have a hot shower and a comfortable bed to rest and our caring staff are there to listen when they need it. Not only do we alleviate some financial worries, but we help the mental wellbeing of the families we support.
