Once again this year, The Sick Children’s Trust has an incredible opportunity to double the value of your donations through the Big Give Christmas Challenge.
From midday on Tuesday 3 December to midday on Tuesday 10 December, every pound you donate to our ‘Make sure no child faces hospital alone’ campaign via the Big Give website , will be match-funded. That means for every £10 you give, the Big Give will add another £10 – it’s as simple as that.
A child falling critically ill and being suddenly admitted to hospital is a terrifying experience for families, especially at Christmas. Staying close to their sick child’s bedside becomes their top priority, but many are forced to travel long distances, sleep in uncomfortable hospital chairs or pay for costly hotels they simply cannot afford. It’s a distressing and isolating time when families need, more than anything, to be together.
If you’re considering supporting us this year, doing so from Tuesday 3 December onwards would be the perfect time to pledge your support. We are aiming to raise £82,700 – enough to give 250 families a place to stay in our ‘Homes from Home’ over the Christmas period.
Every donation made through the Big Give platform, no matter the size, will go twice as far to help us provide families with a welcoming place to stay, free of charge, just minutes from their child’s hospital bedside.
