Give the Gift of Togetherness this Christmas
All sick children should be with their family at Christmas.
Our ‘Homes from Home’ mean that families won’t have to worry about where they’ll stay while their sick child is in hospital. They can spend Christmas together.
It costs us £30 to support a family for one night. £30 gives a family so much more than just a roof over their heads when their child is in hospital. £30 gives them someone to talk to, and a calm place to rest with their family and will mean they can be together at Christmas.
Will pay for a family to stay in one of our 'Homes from Home' at Christmas
Means a family can stay in a 'Home from Home' for two nights.
This will cover a family for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day
Families who stayed with us at Christmas
“Without The Sick Children’s Trust we wouldn’t have really had a Christmas. Due to the kind and thoughtful people who donate to The Sick Children’s Trust we were able to spend it with Theo in hospital, together. It costs £30 a night to give a family like ours a place to stay in one of the charity’s ‘Homes from Home’ and if you’re in hospital over Christmas and don’t have charities like this helping you, you really are on your own. And hospital can feel like a lonely place at the best of times.”
Scott, Theo’s dad
“It makes a massive difference to know that someone’s thought about you. A complete stranger who has decided to donate £30, £60 or £120 so that you don’t have to worry about leaving your child’s bedside over the Christmas period. As a parent you will do whatever possible to stay with your child, at whatever cost. But to have someone take that weight from your shoulders is such a huge gesture. The best gift of all. The gift of togetherness.”
