Acorn House supports families of sick children being treated at Addenbrooke’s Hospital by giving them somewhere to stay just minutes from their seriously ill child’s hospital bedside.

Our ‘Homes from Home’ are more than just a place to stay. Our house staff and the warm communal areas make sure that there’s a friendly ear to listen when families need it.

House Facilities

Acorn House has:

– 15 family bedrooms (including 1 disabled access)
– 9 bathrooms
– direct telephone lines to hospital wards in all bedrooms
– a large fully equipped communal kitchen/dining area
– a playroom
– 2 laundry rooms (including washing machines and tumble driers)
– a quiet room
– a garden with toys
– a courtyard with a garden table

It costs The Sick Children’s Trust £40 to support a family for one night. £40 gives a family so much more than just a roof over their heads when their child is in hospital. £40 gives them someone to talk to, and a calm place to rest with their family.
