The online retail giant operates a charitable giving scheme called Amazon Smile, which gives a donation to a charity of your choosing every time you purchase goods via the smile.amazon.co.uk website or phone app. The donation comes at no cost to you, with Amazon donating 0.5% of the price of your eligible purchases.
Since its launch in 2018, Amazon Smile has already generated over £14 million for charitable causes here in the UK.
It is a hassle-free way to generate vital funds for The Sick Children’s Trust, allowing us to continue supporting the families of sick children at our ‘Homes from Home’.
It is another small but significant way that you can help us, and we would be grateful to anyone who signs up to the scheme.
How to use Amazon Smile
Website
1: Go to smile.amazon.co.uk
2: Sign in using your normal Amazon details log-in details. Don’t forget to save the page in your favourites or bookmarks – this will help you find it next time!
3: Under ‘Pick your own charity’, search for ‘The Sick Children’s Trust’ then confirm that this is the charity you want to support when making purchases.
4: Tell your family and friends to do the same!
Just remember to sign in via smile.amazon.co.uk every time you plan on making a purchase. That way, The Sick Children’s Trust will benefit from the donation.
Mobile App
1: Download the Amazon Shopping App.
2: Sign up to Amazon Smile by selecting The Sick Children’s Trust as your preferred charity at smile.amazon.co.uk.
3: In the app, open the Settings tab (3 horizonal lines) before selecting ‘Gifting an Charity’. Scroll down and switch Amazon Smile to ‘On’.
4: Tell your family and friends!
Going forward, all future purchases made via the Amazon shopping app will ensure that The Sick Children’s Trust receives a donation.
