New start up business FiveDinners pledges to support The Sick Children’s Trust

New meal planning service FiveDinners pledges to donate 5% of its pre-tax profit to support The Sick Children's Trust

New start up business, FiveDinners, has pledged to give 5% of its pre-tax profit to The Sick Children’s Trust to help the charity support families with a seriously ill child in hospital.

FiveDinners is a new meal planning service which has been developed by 2014 MasterChef semi-finalist Theo Michaels and his wife Anna who used to work at The Sick Children’s Trust.

Those that subscribe to the service are sent five family-friendly recipes each week along with one complete shopping list, meaning you only buy what you need; saving money, reducing food waste and reducing dinner time stress. The 5% pledge will go towards giving families a comfortable place to stay and a friendly ear to listen while their children are in the hospital across The Sick Children’s Trust’s ten ‘Homes from Home’. Anna said:

“Life with three children can be chaotic, so we started meal planning and couldn’t believe the results. It was a relief not having to think about what to cook each day, we halved our weekly food bill and reduced our food waste. We realised lots of other families could benefit from a little help with meal planning too and FiveDinners was born. All the recipes are created by Theo and tested on our family of five so we know they work!

“I worked at The Sick Children’s Trust for 12 years and saw first-hand what amazing work the charity does. After having my own children this resonated even more with me, so I jumped at the chance of being able to support this wonderful charity.”

At a time when everything is uncertain The Sick Children’s Trust gives families some stability in their day-to-day life, by supporting them with a place to stay close to their seriously ill child’s hospital bedside. Charlotte Webster, Corporate Partnerships Manager, said:

“We’re so grateful that Anna and Theo have decided to continue their support of the charity through this pledge and we know that FiveDinners will be a great success.

“As a charity we rely entirely on voluntary donations to keep our ‘Homes from Home’ running, being there to make sure as many families as possible can be together and partnerships with companies like FiveDinners are so important in helping us to achieve this.”.
