Ten pledges to support The Sick Children’s Trust to celebrate ten year anniversary

Red Diamond Executive Headhunters have completed ten fundraisers to support Eckersley House as part of their tenth anniversary celebrations

A global headhunting agency completed ten fundraising pledges to raise over £1,400 to support The Sick Children’s Trust as part of their their ten year anniversary celebrations.

Red Diamond Executive Headhunters, based in Huddersfield, was founded in 2011 by Emma and Simon Robinson and over the last decade the business has grown rapidly to an international scale. As they celebrate their ten year anniversary they wanted to do something big as part of their committed support to The Sick Children’s Trust.

The charity supported Emma and Simon when their son, Jasper, was born prematurely ten years ago and needed specialist care at Leeds Children’s Hospital. For six months the charity provided them with a ‘Home from Home’ at Eckersley House, which is located just a stone’s throw from the children’s ward, before Jasper sadly passed away.

Emma, Simon and their dedicated team have been fundraising to support the charity since and this year they are completed another ten fundraisers. The team climbed Mount Snowden, with Emma and Simon’s eight year old son, Bertie, also taking part, hosted their own Come Dine With Me and completed a number of physical challenges plus much more. Emma said:

“The Sick Children’s Trust is an incredibly important charity. Myself and my family know how invaluable the ‘Homes from Home’ are to people with poorly children. For Simon and I Eckersley house was a life line, living next to Leeds General Infirmary while our poorly baby was in intensive care meant we could be with him every day of his short life.

“Ten years later we still feel strongly that other families should have the same opportunity we had. We can never repay such kindness but we can contribute to the financials that are so badly needed.”

The Sick Children’s Trust supports thousands of families every year with a comfortable place to stay close to their seriously ill child in hospital in its ten ‘Homes from Home’. Chief Executive of The Sick Children’s Trust, Jane Featherstone, said:

“It’s only with the ongoing donations of our amazing supporters like Red Diamond that we are able to provide families with a welcoming place to stay when they need it.

“We do not charge families to stay in our ‘Homes from Home’, but it does cost us £30 to support a family for one night. Every donation made by Red Diamond will give another family one less thing to worry about while their child is in hospital and I’d like to say a big thank you to Emma, Simon and their team for their tireless support.”
