Together At Christmas - A Magical Evening In Marylebone

With carols, entertainment, celebrity readings and stories of hope, The Sick Children’s Trust’s Together at Christmas event proved to be a wonderfully heartwarming festive celebration

The breathtakingly beautiful St Marylebone Parish Church in central London provided the perfect setting for our Together at Christmas event, a wonderful festive celebration featuring carols, entertainment, celebrity readings and stories of hope to warm the hearts of everyone who attended on Wednesday 7 December.

Kindly sponsored by Balderton Capital, an audience of over 300 people were treated to an evening of Christmas cheer, raising vital funds for our ‘Homes from Home’.  We are delighted to reveal that over £15,000 was raised in support of the charity, a figure that continues to rise.

The event featured a string of brilliant performances, with Christina Johnston, The Tootsie Rollers and Classical Reflection all showcasing their considerable vocal talents with Christmas-themed songs, while revered actors Tim Downie and Emilia Fox and TV Presenter Alice Beer entertained with readings perfectly suited to the occasion.

Two songs from the fabulous Toffee Bear Choir from Grimsdell, Mill Hill Pre-Preparatory School brought joy and beaming smiles to all onlookers, while an emotional speech from Tom Martin – who stayed with us at Rainbow House while his daughter Annie underwent open heart surgery at Great Ormond Street Hospital – reminded everyone about the vital role our ‘Homes from Home’ play in supporting families with a sick child in hospital.

Although officially the tenth edition of our annual carol service, the Together at Christmas event was, for reasons we are all too familiar with, our first since 2019. It was wonderful to return to such a beautiful setting and see so many familiar faces.

The Sick Children’s Trust would like to say a huge thank you to all of the evening’s performers and readers, with special thanks going to Reverend Canon Dr Stephen Evans for giving us such a warm welcome on our return to St Marylebone Parish Church.
